I called on the LORD in distress: the LORD answered me, and set me in a large place. Psalm 118:5
Our life on this earth is filled with distress, caused due to troubles, challenges, pain, sorrow, sufferings, trials, or temptations. We go through many moments of distress, in different seasons of our life. With our human tendency, we often look for help around us in our known circle of influence and we look out for ways to escape our pain.
Today’s verse is a testimony of the psalmist, that in his moments of distress, he called on the LORD and God answered his cry with deliverance. It’s a great reminder for us to look up to God, not as a last resort, but as a first step.
What kind of distress are we going through today? Whatever the situation may be, God is ready to help. All we have to do is to call upon Him, surrender our hearts to Him and let Him deal with the situation.
God knows our every situation. He is our creator and has been sustaining us by his grace. Our LORD Jesus Christ, in his humanity, endured every form of distress, There is no pain that He doesn’t know. He carries our burdens every day and loads us with benefits. He is the God of our Salvation.
