The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Blessing of forgiveness

Blessed is he whose transgression is forgiven, whose sin is covered. Ps. 32:1

We all want to experience the blessings that God has freely given to us. But, the unconfessed or unforgiven sin in our lives, blocks the blessings of God. Its heaviness brings us down mentally and makes us emotionally despaired, physically weak, and spiritually dry.

In Psalm 32 David speaks out of the agonizing experience he had when he tried to hide his sin from God. He learned the hard way that it is through Confession of his sins that his fellowship with God was re-established and his joy was restored. He calls this experience Blessed, because God forgave his transgressions and covered his sins.

Our transgressions are forgiven and our sins are covered through the work of Jesus Christ on the Cross so that we don’t have to carry the weight of guilt or shame. May the LORD give us willing, humble, and repentant hearts to confess our sins so that we might experience the blessing and joy of full forgiveness by God through Jesus Christ.
