The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

The Power of Stillness in God

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! Psalm‬ ‭46‬:‭10‬

In today’s fast-paced, social media-driven, and self-centered world, it is easy to feel overwhelmed by the chaos of everyday life. The constant rush can leave us drained and exhausted, making it hard to find moments of peace and solitude to quiet our minds and reflect on our lives. But in these moments, we need to remember the powerful words of Psalm 46:10: “Be still and know that I am God.”

At first glance, these words may seem simple, but they hold profound wisdom and depth. Being still is an act of surrender, allowing us to let go of our anxieties and worldly distractions and focus on God’s presence in our lives. It is in this stillness that we find peace, refuge, and strength from Him and His Word. It is in this stillness that we remember He is in control of all things.

The concept of stillness is not foreign to the Bible. In 1 Kings 19:11-13, God revealed Himself to Elijah, who was seeking Him in a cave. He was not found in the wind, earthquake, or fire, but in a gentle whisper. This reminds us that God’s voice is often found in stillness, in the quiet moments of our lives.

When we are still and acknowledge God’s presence, we allow Him to work in our lives. Proverbs 16:3 says, “Commit your work to the Lord, and your plans will be established.” Surrendering to Him and allowing Him to lead the way brings about peace and clarity in our lives.

Moreover, being still opens our hearts to hear from God. Psalm 62:5-8 reminds us to wait silently for God alone, as our salvation and defense come from Him alone. The peace that comes from being still enables us to open our minds and hearts to hear His voice and receive His guidance.

In this chaotic and uncertain world, being still can be a real challenge. However, when we take the time to be still, we remind ourselves of the truth of who God is, and we find peace and comfort in His presence. “Be still and know that I am God…” The more we meditate on this verse, the more our hearts will align with His purposes.

Let us examine ourselves and find a quiet space to be still. Instead of living under continuous anxieties, let us surrender ourselves to God, opening our minds and hearts to His teachings from His Word, and experiencing the peace that only He can provide. By acknowledging and proclaiming that He is God and that He has the best plan for us, we will find strength, peace, and clarity in His presence.

Take a moment today to be still and know that He is God. He has better plan and appointed a right time to deliver what is way beyond our expectations. Just do continue to good and wait upon Him to return back.

Promise: “but they who wait for the Lord shall renew their strength; they shall mount up with wings like eagles; they shall run and not be weary; they shall walk and not faint.”

Prayer: Dear Lord Heavenly Father mighty wonderful God. Lord, In the midst of the chaos and busyness of our life’s, we come before you to find stillness in your presence. We acknowledge that you are the God, the Almighty, and that you hold all things in your hands. We surrender our anxieties and distractions to you, knowing that you are in control and have a better plan for us.

In this moment of stillness Lord, we open our hearts to hear from you. Speak to us, Lord, in the gentle whisper of your voice. Guide us, lead us, and show us the way. Help us to align our desires and plans with your perfect will. We commit our work and our lives to you, knowing that when we trust in you, our plans will be established.

As we wait silently for you, Lord, we find peace and refuge in your presence. We know that our salvation and defense come from you alone. In this stillness, we open our minds and hearts to receive your wisdom and guidance. Speak to us through your Word, that we may be transformed and renewed.

Father, we confess that being still is not always easy in this fast-paced world. But we know that in the stillness, we find true peace and strength. Help us to prioritize moments of stillness in our lives, to set aside time to be with you. Remind us daily to be still and know that you are God.

We thank you, Lord, for your love and faithfulness. We thank you for the peace that surpasses all understanding, which you provide in the midst of chaos. As we continue on this journey, help us to always seek your presence, to find solace in your embrace, and to rest in the assurance that you are with us. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

Have a blessed day!
