I will make you exceedingly fruitful; and I will make nations of you, and kings shall come from you. Genesis 17:6
The blessing in this verse would be inherited only through obedience to the covenant. When Abram was 99 years old, the Lord appeared to him and made a covenant. Abraham’s duty was to obey God, and God’s part was to bless him. Most contracts involve equal trades, but when we become part of God’s covenant family, the blessings we receive far outweigh what we must give up. God has the same message for us today: we are to implicitly obey the Lord in every respect, and He is ready to bless us in every way. Cling on to HIM.
