The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Imitators of God

Therefore be imitators of God as dear children. Ephesians 5:1

In this context, Paul commands us to ‘be imitators.’ Ephesians chapter 5 addresses two important themes for imitation:

Firstly, Obedience to God: Includes walking in love, living a pure life, avoiding filthiness, foolish talk, and crude joking, being clear of idolatry, and walking as children of light. Being wise and making the best use of our time, giving thanks to the Lord for everything are also essential aspects of this obedience.

Secondly, Husband and Wife: The Lord expects the relationship between husbands and wives to mirror that of Christ and the Church. Just as the universal Church submits to Him, wives should also submit to their husbands in everything. Similarly, as Christ loved the Church and gave Himself up for her, husbands should love, nourish, and cherish their wives.

May the Lord help us to be imitators of Him.
