God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth. John 4:24
In this context, we find the conversation between Jesus and the Samaritan woman. Samaritans are considered to be mixed breed and they do have pagan religious culture.
Here Jesus emphasizes the fact that those who worship the true God worship Him in spirit and truth beyond traditional rituals or superficial practices. To worship Him in spirit means to include our heart, mind, soul and adoration towards HIm. To worship Him in truth means to embrace the truth of Christ.
As we enter into the Lord’s Day, may we worship Him in spirit and truth.
