And what agreement has the temple of God with idols? For you are the temple of the living God – 2 Cor 6:16
In chapter 6 Paul is addressing Corinthians on their lack of affection for God and him too. People are tossed by false doctrine. He is suggesting the believers to cut off from the unbelievers. “Do not be yoked together with unbelievers. For what do righteousness and wickedness have in common? Or what fellowship can light have with darkness” – 2 Corinthians 6:14
Our God is Jealous. He will not yield His glory to another or His praise to idols. As the Body of Christ, we are His representatives or ambassadors on earth. We are the children of light. For He is holy, and He is expecting us to be holy.
Paul goes on and says that the believers need to lead separated lives because for we are the temple of the living God. God made our bodies as his dwelling place not because our self-righteousness, but it is through the redemptive power of Christ. He is the author and origin of all life.
