The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Set your minds on things above

Set your mind on the things above, not on the things that are on earth. Col 3:2

Set your mind on the things above means

  1. To look at life from God’s perspective and to seek what he desires. By seeking what Christ desires we have the power to break our obsession with pleasure and leisure activities.

  2. It's an antidote to empty religiosity because following Christ means loving and serving Him in this world.

  3. Striving to put heaven’s priorities into daily practice.

  4. Concentrating on the eternal rather than temporal.

Our thoughts should be occupied about the things where Christ now dwells, where our final home is to be, where our great interests are. Since we are raised from the death of sin, and are made to live anew, the great object of our contemplation should be the heavenly world.

May we seek His desire always.
