…the father of the child cried out and said with tears, “Lord, I believe; help my unbelief!” – Isaiah 46:4
The context of this verse is that a father brings his demon possessed son to Jesus and his disciples for deliverance. All of his previous efforts were futile, and he might have lost all hope when Jesus’ disciples couldn’t drive out the demon spirit. So, he genuinely admitted his struggle to believe, in his response to Jesus.
Many a times, we are also like this father. We’re overcome by unbelief when we don’t find a way in certain situations and are unable to fix our eyes on God, who is able to do the impossible. Let us genuinely ask God to forgive our unbelief and to teach us to trust in Him!
Let us fix our eyes on Jesus, who is the author and perfecter of faith. (Heb. 12:2)
