The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Render unto Caesar and unto God!

For because of this you also pay taxes, for they are God’s ministers attending continually to this very thing. Romans 13:6

Have you heard anyone saying ‘it’s OK to cheat “a little” because the government gets enough already? Lord Jesus and Apostle Paul make it clear that we are to pay taxes because we are to respect the governing authorities, for the authorities are God’s ministers, who give their full time to governing. Bible commands us to submit to the government and to pay taxes even when the tax system is corrupt and unfair. Jesus said, “Give to Caesar…” when the Roman government was by no means righteous. When Paul instructed us to pay taxes, Nero, one of the evilest Roman emperors in history, was the head of the government. We are to pay our taxes even when the government is not God-honoring. The only instance in which we are allowed to disobey the government is when it tells us to do something the Bible forbids. The Bible does not forbid paying taxes. The Bible encourages us to pay taxes. Taxes are intended to enable the beneficial running of society, which involves the protection of law-abiding citizens, restraining evildoers, and establishing peace

Let every soul be subject to the governing authorities. For there is no authority except from God, and the authorities that exist are appointed by God (Romans 13:1).
