Be still, and know that I am God; Psalm 46:10
The Absence of stillness in our soul leads to worry, anxiety, fear, doubt, no peace, strivings, etc. The knowledge of God is the only factor that enables the human soul to ‘be still’. God is all-powerful, all-knowing, the universe is the work of His fingers, He measures it with the span of His hands, with the same hands He holds us, and He is our ever-present help in any trouble because we are the apple of His eye. Though the mountains shall depart, and hills be removed, His kindness shall not depart from us. This confidence in God enables us to trust in Him even in the rough seasons of our life. When we surrender ourselves to God and acknowledge His sovereignty in our life, we can ‘be still’ like prophet Elisha in 2 Kings chapter 6 and see the LORD of angel armies surrounding, shielding, and fighting our battles.
