My son, give me your heart, and let your eyes observe my ways. Proverbs 23:26
These are not just the words of Solomon, rather these are the words of the One, who is greater than Solomon to His children. God is asking us to give our hearts to Him, not that our hearts are good, clean, and pure. Our heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure, but our Everlasting Father wants to do an amazing heart transplant by taking away our stony and impure heart by replacing it with a new, clean, fleshy heart, and writing His Law on our hearts. It approx. costs $1.4 million for a heart transplant but our loving Father wants to give us a new heart for free, simply by asking Him, create in me a clean heart. Now our heavenly Father expects that our heart should beat only for Him by loving Him whole-heartedly and by living for Him all of our days. He also expects that the eyes of our heart observe His ways by looking unto Jesus Christ, Who is the fulfillment of the Law.
May God help us all to become ‘the children after God’s own heart’!
