… God is now declaring to men that all people everywhere should repent – Acts 17:30
Paul is preaching to people of Athens to repent from their sins and turn to one living God. Salvation comes only through Jesus. For there is no other name under heaven given to mankind by which we must be saved.
People's minds and hearts are corrupted that they couldn’t accept the exclusivity of this one true living God. In the culture we come from, makes the people think that there are multiple ways to enter heaven. Some believe like all rivers finally joining the ocean, all religion leads to the kingdom of God. But Scripture clearly says that Jesus is the way and the truth and the life – John 14:6. If there is any other alternate ways Jesus would have revealed that to us. Only repented people washed by the blood of Jesus can enter the narrow gate to heaven.
We read in Job 42:6 about the repentance of Job. If a righteous man like Job repents in dust and ashes, How much more we have to repent? There is always room to improve. Let us all abound in good works, which God prepared beforehand so that we would walk in them.
Prayer: Father God, I confess and repent of my transgressions. Wash me thoroughly so that I may abound in your good works. In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
