Bless the LORD, O my soul; And all that is within me, bless His holy name – Psalms 103:1
Here the word “Bless” means “Praise”. When we praise God, it should be from the depth of our hearts not just with our lips. The psalmist who wrote the 150 chapters concludes the last chapter with praises.
Why do we need to praise God? We praise God because of His goodness towards us. We need to be thankful for we are fearfully and wonderfully made. Whatever we possess, it is a perfect gift from God. We didn’t acquire it by our skills but by His grace.
Scripture says, God inhabits the praises of His people. So, when we praise God, He will come among our midst. When the light comes the darkness will flee. We read in Acts 16:25, when Paul and Silas were praising God in their chain, they were set free by the power of God. Similarly, if we need any breakthroughs or deliverance or miracles, we need to start praising Him in advance.
Prayer: Father God, help us to be thankful and let your praises be always on our mouth. Give me heart not to forget all Your benefits. In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!!
