The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Sin no more

…”See, you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you.”  John 5:14

Jesus saw a man who was lying, who had been in that state for a long time. Jesus says to him -’ Rise, take up thy bed and walk’. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked.
Afterward, Jesus finds him in the temple and says – see you have been made well. Sin no more, lest a worse thing come upon you”.

Jesus saw him and sought to help him. This man was made well which means completely healed. Jesus indicated that this man’s sin brought on his paralysis. Continued sin may bring on a much worse condition. Evidently, this sickness was connected to his sinful life. Sickness is not always the result of sin in the Bible, but sometimes it is. The “worst thing” here is eternal suffering for sin. That is far “worse” than this man’s 38 years of paralysis.

May Jehovah Or, shine forth His light upon any hidden sin in us. Ultimately He is willing to accept and forgive us just as we are.
