Now, therefore, fear the Lord, serve Him in sincerity and in truth… Serve the Lord! -Josh 24:14
The context of the above verse is about aged (110 years) Joshua talking to the people of Israel in his last meeting with them perhaps before the passing of Joshua. He reminds the people of Israel how GOD rescued them from the bondage of slavery from Egypt and thereafter also continuously helped them to bring to the promised land.
Joshua urges the people to put away “other gods(fake)” and “serve the LORD.” Speaking on behalf of his own household. Joshua boldly called for a deep commitment and a true commitment.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thanks for being with me and with my family. As for me, I serve you through Jesus by serving him (John 14:6). Ever since you found me, I have forsaken other fake gods. You are real GOD and loving GOD. Help me and my family to grow in you and follow you every word you spoke to us. Especially, forgiving and judging others as you have forgiven our sins.
