The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Settlement through suffering

May the God of all grace, who called us… perfect, establish, strengthen, and settle you. 1 Pet. 5:10.

When God called us, remember that we are like a tree planted and fed by streams of water. It yields its fruit in season irrespective of sufferings. Its leaf does not wither because of external and internal problems but prospers. Today’s verse reminds us that sufferings are temporary and after suffered a while, God makes us perfect, establishes, strengthens, and settles us.

Bible says, “all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Based on this verse, it is clear that our Lord has a perfect plan behind every situation and suffering.

Sufferings are inevitable but remember that God shapes these suffering to settlement. As our Lord Jesus endured the cross for the joy of accomplishing the goal of giving us salvation (which settled our seat in heaven), let us endure sufferings as these are momentary compared to the eternal glory that is far outweighs them all!
