“I am the light of the world, He who follows Me shall not walk in darkness, but have the light of life.” John 8:12
In 1879, Thomas Alva Edison invented the electric light bulb by passing the electricity through a thin platinum filament in the glass vacuum bulb. It has been argued that the light bulb was the greatest invention of all time. The light bulb helped the social life to be in order after the dark, enabled safe travel in the dark, helped to continue the work into the dark. Without the light bulb, there is no proper nightlife. However, if there is no electricity, the light bulb can’t give the light.
Spiritually speaking, living in darkness also means we are blinded by wickedness, sin, and hopelessness. It is a symbol of evil and the mystery of fear. A long time before Edison, Jesus Christ said, “I am the light of the world.” Jesus Christ is the True light over spiritual darkness, and there is no interruption to this light. When the light (Jesus Christ) falls in darkness, darkness has no place. If you want to overcome the dark moments and to have the light of life, let us accept Jesus as our true light and continue to live in Him so that the darkness has no place in our lives!
