“I will lay your stones with colorful gems, and lay your foundations with sapphires” – Isaiah 54:11
The people of Israel sinned against God and turned away from Him. So, God allowed the Israelites to be afflicted as a form of His divine discipline. When God disciplines, it is for our good, even though it may not feel like it, while we are being disciplined. It is written in Hebrews 12:6, “For the LORD disciplines those he loves…”
Once God disciplined the Israelites, He has promised them a glorious future as they repent and return to Him. Likewise, as soon as we repent of our sins and accept Jesus as our personal Savior, we are guaranteed a place in heaven which is being prepared with pearls and streets of gold. Let us be prepared and look forward to the glorious heritage which He has promised for the children of God!
