The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Betrothed to Christ

“I will betroth you to Me forever;… in righteousness and justice, in lovingkindness and mercy” – Hosea 2:19

‘Betrothal’ is the first stage of marriage in Jewish culture and is more legal than an engagement, which usually lasts for a year before the wedding day. In some cultures, during this period before the wedding, the soon-to-be bride and the groom take time to know each other’s likes and dislikes to align themselves and prepare for the marriage.

Just like God promised the Israelites, He is also promising us, who have been unfaithful, that we will be betrothed to Him forever. He has taken away our unrighteousness and clothed us with righteousness, justice, loving kindness, mercy, and faithfulness. While we as the Bride(church) await the wedding day, let us take time to know more about our Bride-groom (Lord Jesus) by meditating on His word, so that we could align our lives and prepare to be with Him forever!
