“I will certainly be with you… you shall serve God on this mountain” – Exodus 3:12
God chose Moses for a special assignment to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt. He spoke to Moses from a burning bush and revealed His plan of deliverance. When Moses heard that he was chosen to be the deliverer, he was overwhelmed and highlighted all his weaknesses and gave many excuses to God in order to escape from His plan. God responded by promising Moses of His presence which would strengthen, guide, and equip him to accomplish this difficult assignment.
When God calls us to do His ministry or a special task, what is our response? Most of the time, our response is like Moses in giving excuses, because we focus on our weaknesses and inabilities. God wants to remind us that it is His Holy Spirit who indwells us, who would strengthen and equip us to accomplish His will in our lives.
“God does not call the qualified. He qualifies the called!”
