My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever. Ps. 73:26
Troubles in this world are inevitable. How we get out of the troubles, makes us who we are in Christ. Psalmist Asaph chose to run to God to find strength in His troubles. He desired to be in the presence of the Lord. Even though troubles lasted in his life, his perspective towards the problems had changed. God comforted him.
Jesus said, in this world, we will have tribulation. But he also mentioned to be of good cheer, I have overcome the world. He is Sovereign. He will not let us be tempted beyond what we can bear. He has promised to sustain us through it all by guiding us with His right hand.
Whatever may be the troubles we go through in our lives, may it be sickness, sorrow, shame, or persecution, may God grant us His strength in all our weakness. May He help us to boldly confess, “Even though we walk in the shadow of the valley of death, we will fear no evil”, because Jesus has conquered death.
May God help us to look at the future, beyond our present troubles, when He would receive us into glory. He is our portion and our eternal inheritance. Our flesh and our heart may fail, but He never fails.
