The LORD is far from the wicked, but He hears the prayer of the righteous. Prov 15:29
Today’s verse focuses on 2 types of people, the wicked and righteous. The wicked people are those who do not fear God, walk in their own ways and are disobedient to God’s Word. Their thoughts, ways, and even their sacrifices are an abomination to the Lord. The LORD separates himself from them.
On the contrary, the righteous are those who walk in the fear of the Lord, thus showing obedience to God’s Word. God is nigh unto them that are of broken heart and a contrite spirit and who call upon him in truth. He hears their cry and delivers them out of all trouble.
While there is still time, may we examine our hearts, to see if there is any wickedness in our heart, that we may repent of our ways and turn towards Him in full assurance of faith, that Lord’s favor might be upon us and that He delights to hear our prayers.
