The Spiritual gifts are given to everyone in the Church, to complement each other, specifically for the edification of the body of Christ, only to be carried out in love, emphasizing in spreading the gospel. By exercising the Spiritual gifts, the power of the Holy Spirit may be manifested in us, in strengthening the believers and in saving the non-believers, henceforth extending the kingdom of God, but by prohibiting it, the work of the Holy Spirit is hindered.
Apostle Paul encourages us to desire Spiritual gifts which can be communicated in a known language. May it be prophecy or may it be speaking in tongues followed by interpretation of tongues, is equally edifying to the church, when used in love, for the encouragement and comfort of others, for the glory of Christ. As Christians, let us not be ignorant but desire Spiritual gifts earnestly, that we may be actively involved in the building of the church, till Christ returns.
