And Jesus answered and said to him, it has been said, you shall not tempt the LORD your God. Luke 4:12
To test or tempt the Lord is to insist that He prove that He is trustworthy. In the wilderness, this is one of the temptations of Jesus from satan. The devil had led Jesus to the highest point of the temple and said if you are the Son of God, throw yourself down and quoted a supporting Bible verse.
It is evident that satan knows the word of God by memory to distort the faith of the believers. From the beginning of Jesus' ministry to the end, He was in conflict with the powers of darkness.
Today satan is against the Church and must be resisted by the word of God and faith. Let us be vigilant and filled by His Spirit and never forsake meditating on His word which will alert us from demon attacks. May the Lord guide us in His truth.
