He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities; …by His stripes we are healed. Isaiah 53:5
All human beings have one thing in common and that is ‘We all are sinners, and we need a savior’. As a God-Man Savior, Christ died a vicarious death for sinners. In His vicarious death for us, Christ was wounded for our transgressions, crushed for our iniquities, and cut off out of the land of the living for our transgression, and He bore our sin, that we may have peace and be healed. Christ was wounded by the nails in His hands and His feet, by the spear that pierced His side, and by the crown of thorns on His head. Christ bore our sin, including our wrongdoings, mistakes, iniquities, evildoings, trespasses, and transgressions. Through the sacrifice of Christ, we are reconciled to God.
The immortal God became mortal to give us His immortality. God left His heavenly glory and became humble to give us His glory in His kingdom. From heaven God came down to earth, to take us to heaven. The rich God became poor to make us rich. Jesus was rejected so that we will be accepted. Holy and righteous God became Sin, to give us His righteousness. He took all the sorrow, to give us His Peace. Jesus’ Cross and His death gave us the Crown of Life. Through the death of Jesus, our death had been dead. Ultimately Jesus gave His life, gave His all for the great Love He has for us, and to accept us into His everlasting kingdom. Let us bow down, lift up the cup of our salvation, worship and exalt the name of our Savior Jesus Christ and boldly share His love with the people around us.
