But the end of all things is at hand; therefore be serious and watchful in your prayers. 1 Peter 4:7
As we notice several signs of end times, we see multiplication of evil, and a world where everyone does what is right in their own eyes. There is rejection of God’s truth, persecution of God’s servants and hatred for God’s people. The time is fast approaching when we will soon be standing in the presence of the Lord Jesus, to give an account of the life we lived for Christ.
Peter indicates that prayer is crucial to face this situation. Therefore, it is important to practice self-control and have clear minds, so that we can pray without ceasing, maintain an attitude of praise, and in everything give thanks to our Father in heaven, for this is His will for all His children. We are to be a living sacrifice holy to the Lord. We should also be serious and sober-minded. In other words, we should be careful about how we live by practicing self-control, purity of heart, clarity of mind, and unceasing prayer.
