Now therefore, go, and I will be with your mouth and teach you what you shall say. Exodus 4:12
In this verse God is speaking to Moses when he was instructed to lead the nation of Israel out of Egypt into the promised land. Moses was not a gifted speaker. He told God that he was slow of speech and slow of tongue. He was also concerned that Israel would not believe him and listen to his word, and he begged God to send someone else who was more qualified than he. He was reluctant to trust God when he told him he would lead the Israelites.
The Lord is the one who created us, and he knows our every strength and weakness. He has power over all the senses and holds all things together. God is very able to equip each of us with the qualifications and abilities needed to fulfil His heavenly instructions, for His grace is sufficient and His strength is made perfect in our weakness. It is not in ourselves that we find our competency for God’s work, but through his word that we are equipped for every good work.
