The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

God’s Spirit dwells in you

Do you not know that you are God's temple and that God's Spirit dwells in you?  – 1 Cor. 3:16

When we repent of our sins and confess that Jesus is the Lord of our life and obey in waters of Baptism then the Holy spirit will come and dwell among us. Unless one is born again, the spirit of God won't dwell in them. Unbelievers are like candles that are not lit up and their spirit is dead. Only the Holy Spirit can light up the dead spirit.

When John Baptized Jesus, the Holy spirit descended on Him like a dove. It was visually seen. When we accept Jesus as our savior the Holy spirit will make our body as a temple, and He will reside in us. He will come in silently and when we grieve Him, He will leave without notifying. He is a gentle spirit.

In the Old Testament, the spirit of God will descend on a person to perform miracles and then He will leave. For example, in one instance when the Holy spirit descended on Samson, he killed a lion easily like a goat. Whereas in the New Testament, the Holy Spirit made our body as a permanent place to dwell so be sensitive and abstain from every form of sin that makes the Holy spirit to grieve and leave.

Prayer: Father God, thank you for sending your spirit to dwell among us. Help us abstain from evil so that we may not grieve you. In Jesus name I pray – Amen !!!
