Trust in the LORD forever, for in God the LORD, we have an everlasting Rock. Isa. 26:4
When the disciples of Jesus were in the boat, the boat was tossed because of the strong wind. Shortly, Jesus was walking on the lake and told them not to be afraid. Peter asked Jesus if he may come on the water. When Jesus said, “yes,” he got down on the boat and walked toward Jesus. As long as Peter fixed his eyes on Jesus, he was able to walk. But when he saw the wind, he was afraid and beginning to sink.
This situation can be compared to our lives. Like Peter, we all are walking in our life. As long as we trust and look at Jesus, we will be to walk properly. If we move our focus from Jesus, we will be drowned in sin and into the world. Today’s verse is a great reminder that Jesus is our everlasting Rock. While we are walking in this life, whenever we are in trouble or temptation, with trust, we can jump on the everlasting rock where there is safety. Let us keep focusing on Jesus, as He is the author and finisher of our faith.
