The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent

The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent. (Ex. 14:14)

We are a people of hurry and want to get things quickly and immediately. As generations pass by (Baby Boomers to Gen X to Millennials to Gen Z), patience is deteriorating. We wanted to depend on our strength and see the results immediately. However, Bible tells us that God does not work in our time but in His time (John 7:6). His time is the best time to get better results.

The context of today’s verse is that when Israelites were crossing the Red Sea, Egyptians came with a big army, horses, and chariots to attack them. When the Israelites saw this scene, they were terrified. But Moses encouraged, “Do not be afraid. Stand still, and see the salvation… The Lord will fight for you while you keep silent.” As the Israelites were patient (stood still), God fought on behalf of the Israelites.

In our lives also, if we are patient and wait for His timing, we will exchange our poor strength for His great strength, which is able to overcome any obstacle.
