The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Looking for Rest?

Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Matt. 11:28

John Bunyan wrote a book called “Pilgrim’s progress.” In this book, as the pilgrim’s named Christian progresses in his life, he keeps adding the burden of sin and shame on his back. He was astonished because of its weight and said, “I fear that this burden upon my back will sink me lower than the grave, and I shall fall into Tophet [a place of burning].”

At last, the Christian goes to the “place of deliverance,” where he sees the CROSS. Just as Christian came up to the Cross, his burden fell off his back. At this, Christian felt glad and overjoyed because no burden was on his back.

Similarly, as we progress in our life, we have been adding sin to our backs. As the burden is so heavy with sin and guilt, Christ called us and said, “Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.” Only our Lord Jesus can set us free from sin.“If the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.” (John 8:36)

If you are not saved, Jesus is calling you to give salvation. If you are a Christian and burdened with daily burdens, go to Christ to get rest.
