Exalt the Lord our God, and worship at His footstool – He is holy. Ps. 99:5
God is holy, and He lives in high and holy places. No one can reach these heights. However, God gave us access to His presence through the blood of Jesus Christ and gave us an opportunity to worship at His footstool while we are on the earth.
In Psalm 99, Psalmist describes the holiness of God and encourages us to exalt the Lord. We can see three things here:
Great God (1-3) – Lord is great and high above all people. As He is great and powerful, the earth trembles.
Righteous God (4-5) – Our Lord loves the judgment and executes righteous judgment. Justice demands punishment for our sins; however, wrath and mercy met at the CROSS, by thus, he is providing us pardon.
Gracious God (6-9) – When we call upon His name, He answers us. Let’s come to the throne of grace boldly so that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in times of need.
Let us come to the throne and worship at His footstool, for He is holy.
