I will praise You, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made; Marvelous are Your works, and that my soul knows very well.Ps. 139:14
Psalm 139 is a wonderful psalm that talks about three things:
OMNISCIENCE (1-6) – OUR GOD KNOWS ALL THINGS
Nowadays, companies talk about customer 360, where they want to capture all information about a customer to serve better. Even though they may try to capture all, they will not know everything about a customer.
On the contrary, God knows all things. In Psa. 139, David said, “You… known me” (1), You know my sitting down and my rising up (2), You know it altogether(4). God knows the end from the beginning (Isa. 46:10) and knows each of our plans (Jer. 29:11).
OMNIPRESENCE. (7-12) – OUR GOD IS EVERYWHERE
The eyes of the LORD are in every place, keeping watch on the evil and the good. There is no place God can’t go. David said in Psa. 139, “where can I go from Your Spirit? Or where can I flee from Your presence? (7) Even there Your hand shall lead me, And Your right hand shall hold me (10)
HIS OMNIPOTENCE. (13-18) – OUR GOD CAN DO ALL THINGS
God has made everything beautiful in its time. Gen. 1:31 says, “God saw everything that he had made, and, behold, it was very good.”
In David’s words, not only are we fearfully and wonderfully made, but also God’s thoughts are so precious towards us. If we counted every gift and work, they would be more in number than the sand.
As our soul knows very well, let us praise our God from the bottom of our hearts.
