Do not boast about tomorrow,For you do not know what a day may bring forth Prov 27:1
It is human nature to be overly confident in what future days hold. It is easy to boast tomorrow, especially with our modern arrogance of continual progress. In this text we are reminded that the only guarantee in life is God and not man, therefore God admonishes us to boast not of tomorrow because we do not know what tomorrow holds.
Tomorrow is only hoped for but not guaranteed. None of us knows what a day may bring, Only God. Be content with today and give thanks for it. When we can’t see tomorrow and feel a need to boast, God has given us permission to boast in one kind of way and that is in Him. 2 Cor 10:17 As scripture say, “if you want to boast, boast only in the Lord”
People of God, remember that God holds our future in HIS hands, and He will work His plans for us and for our good. For I know the plans I have for you, Declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and future Jer 29:11.
