But as for me, I will come into Your house in the multitude of Your mercy. In fear of You I will worship toward Your holy temple. Psa 5:7
This is a Psalm of practicing His presence when one is in distress. Faith and trust and a commitment to obey are marks of a person who loves and honors God. God indeed hears our prayers and cares, it wasn’t that David thought that he was righteous, and all others were sinners. His ground of confidence was the Mercy of God.
David’s worship wasn’t based on his feelings, but on his reverence for a righteous, merciful God. This reflects David’s constant reliance on God. As we can see in Verses 2 & 3 David was much in secret worship, prayed often alone and yet was very constant and devout in his attendance to the sanctuary (Vs 7&8).
Reflect on the multitude of His mercies and boldly run into His presence to worship Him knowing that He will clearly lead you and show you the way that you must go.
