… All that the LORD hath said will we do, and be obedient. Exodus 24:7
It’s the response of Israelites when Moses read aloud God’s instructions, Commandments and Laws to them. It’s good to know that they were all willing to obey. Once done Moses left to Mt.Sinai to meet the Lord. Since his stay was delayed, the people of Israelites influenced Aaron and together committed sin through idolatry. It says in Exo – 32:1 – “ Come on ! Make us gods who can lead us. As for this man Moses who brought us up out of the land of Egypt, we don’t have a clue what has happened to him.” Pathetic situation. They doubted the very presence of God.
The same error is being repeated through generations. The primary reason for the Israelites to sin was “disbelief and desperation”. Satan is prompting to disobey God when the believer is in utter desperation. Desperations like Joblessness, life settlements , financial struggles, family , hunger, visa status etc., Staying connected to God through personal quiet times, prayer, worship, fellowship with the believers, evangelism will boost up our trust in God.
There’s a song that says “Obedience is the very best way to show that we believe”. Do we believe that God is present with us in whatever situation we are in and that he understands us?
