And now why tarriest thou? Arise, and be baptized. Acts 22:16
Saul, the great persecutor had found mercy in God’s eyes. Ananias commanded the newly converted Paul to get up and be baptized and to wash away his sins calling on the name of Jesus.
There is an urgency to obey the ordinance of baptism which is essential for every believer who has decided to trust Christ alone for salvation.
Many believers procrastinate and show a delay in showing the obedience of this command for various reasons. Bible tells us that there is no reason to delay baptism.
Baptism is the outward expression of the inward experience which symbolizes Christ’s death, burial and resurrection.
Lord, we thank you for the obedience you have shown in getting baptized, setting us an example. We pray for the baptism of many more – for no one is without the need of grace and no one is beyond your reach. In Jesus name. Amen!
