Zion Calendar Verse – May 21, 2018
"… So I prayed unto the God of heaven." Neh. 2:4
This prayer took place in a matter of seconds during a conversation between Nehemiah and the king.
Nehemiah's prayer was an instant reaction to a tricky situation, and God answered his prayer. This prayer was not a long, extended prayer. Instead, this was an immediate, silent prayer.
It is wonderful to labor long in prayer but prayer does not have to be long to be effective. Spontaneous prayer was an important part of Nehemiah's life and it should be an important part of every believer in Christ.
Heavenly Father: Thank you for the great prayer examples you have set for us through Nehemiah's life. Help us to be spontaneous and labor in our everyday prayers. Amen!
