Thou shalt be secure, because there is hope. Job 11:18
When we go through difficult situations in our lives, there will be people who will say that God is punishing us because of our sins, which might not always be true. In Job 11, Job’s friend, Zophar, tells him to repent of his sins in order for God to heal him and restore everything he had lost.
Outline:
1. Rather than accusing someone and attributing their misery to their sins, we are called to encourage them through the word of God and remind them of his goodness.
2. Job didn’t understand why God allowed such great misery is his life, but he continued to trust in His goodness. That is FAITH! We have hope and security in him when we depend on Him, knowing that in his time he will deliver us and make all things to work together for our good.
Prayer: Gracious Heavenly Father, thank you for being good to us. We may not understand why you allow difficulties in our lives, but we choose to trust you through the entire process. In Jesus name we pray, Amen!
