The God of love and peace shall be with you. 2 Cor 13:11
Most of us would have attended farewell functions in our schools and colleges. Those were very emotional moments and mostly the last opportunity to speak to each other before we part ways not knowing if we would be meeting each other again. If it were not for the technological advancements that mankind had made (like phone, email, whatsapp, facebook, facetime, skype etc) the farewell meet most probably was the last meeting between people.
Knowing that this might be the last time that people would be talking in person, what do they talk about? They would not talk about something that is silly, useless or matters concerning other people. They would for sure talk or discuss the most important words of their relationship. The top secrets or feelings or most important conversions would happen during that last week / days / moments.
This verse is Paul’s farewell message where he tells them something very essential. He said, “the *God of love and peace shall be with you*” but, before that he laid out the conditions or the prerequisites for that.
While being with us is God’s side of the coin, we also have our side to fulfill. We should
-
Be perfect
-
Be of good comfort – encourage one another (NIV)
-
Be of one mind
-
Live in peace
He tells the believers that God stays with them, if we *live in peace* with HIS people. This is the point to ponder today. Are we at peace?
People say *Rest in peace*. Jesus is the only one who can make us *Live in Peace* before we *Rest in peace*.
As we begin this day, we would want the Lord to be with us and we now have reminded ourselves as to what should we be doing.May we have such a blessed day where we do our part for GOD always does HIS part.
