The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Thankfully yours

In everything give thanks; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you. 1 Thess 5:18

Generally, when do we thank the Lord?

  1. When we getup from bed.

  2. When we take our meal.

  3. When we get good marks in our tests.

  4. When we get a promotion.

  5. When we take a new home.

  6. When we get married.

  7. When we get our H1s approved.

So on and so forth.

If we carefully watch our reasons for thanking the Lord, is there any difference between us and non-Christians. We thank for all the above reasons, they also thank for all these reasons. Right?

So, what’s the difference? Nothing!!!!! We take the name of Jesus and they their own God.

Is that fair?

Just ponder, if we are taking a flight from USA to India via London. We will pray 2 times (once before take off in USA, and the other before the take off in London) . When do we thank the Lord? Only after we reach Hyderabad. Apart from we praying ourselves, we will ask a hoard of people around us to pray. Will we inform all of them once we reach to thank them for their prayers and ask them to offer thanks to the Lord for the safe journey? Mostly not.

But, a true Christian is the one who give thanks in everything.

Whether is be profit or loss,

whether it be health or sickness,

whether it be success or failure,

whether it be life or death,

whether it be promotion or demotion,

whether it be feast or a fast,

whether it be happiness or heaviness,

whether it be visa approval or visa rejection.

Many of us want to do God’s will and even wait for God’s will to be revealed. Today’s verse is so very clear about God’s will. One of God’s will is, that we give thanks in everything.

On this thanksgiving day, let us resolve to start practicing the art of thanking the Lord come what may.

May we have thankful days ahead!!!
