“I am God Almighty: be fruitful and multiply” – Gen. 35:11
Some of us may have two names, specifically, before salvation (old name) and after salvation (new name). Similarly, In Gen 35, God has changed the name from Jacob (deceiver) to Israel (wrestle with God). Here Jacob represents his old nature and Israel represents his new nature. Along with the name, God also has changed his heart and gave today’s verse as a promise.
Similarly, if we look at ourselves, we too have two natures, “old nature” and a “new nature”. The Bible says, “if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come “(2 Cor 5:17). While we are being thankful for the renewed heart, on this last day of 2018, let us ponder upon “old things” in this year and CONFESS where we have missed the mark so that with a renewed heart, we can enter into 2019.
Have a great CONFESSION day ahead.
