The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Step back and think!!

“Judge not, that you be not judged.”  Matthew 7:1.

It is interesting that often we use this verse while gossiping or thinking about someone who we see doing wrong. Sometimes we are judging people not loudly but inside our mind and hearts. The primary meaning of this verse is that we must not judge other people’s actions until we have acknowledged and repent all of our own actions towards others, which is impossible because, no matter we do we can’t be sinless, and if we think we took care of all the problems we have in ourselves we are simply deceiving ourselves. 1 John 1:8-10 says, “If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us. If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make him out to be a liar and his word is not in us.”  Now you may ask what we should do if someone is in a situation we know is not right for them. At that point we are still not allowed to judge that person, instead we must deal with situation not a person. We judge others so many ways. At work, at home, and even at church as well. Let’s start fixing up our judgmental behavior. Let’s be watchful today and before the judgmental thoughts comes in our mind try to avoid that by meditating this verse. Let’s try this and see how our life and attitude gets changed.
