“An altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen. In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.” Exodus 20:24.
This verse has two parts, the first part is “Make an altar of earth you shall make for me and sacrifice on it your burnt offerings and your peace offerings, your sheep and your oxen.” Second part is “In every place where I cause my name to be remembered I will come to you and bless you.”
How can we see this verse in today’s time? Do we see that if we need to be blessed, we must bring our sacrifice? Do we have to bring our sheep and oxen? The sacrifice of the animal was the covering of guilt. God sacrificed the animals to cover human nakedness, but of His love, He provided the sacrifice which will not just cover but cancel all our inequities and transgressions.
To be a part of this continued blessing, we need to come in His presence, staying closer to Him and feel internally that no matter what we do is not enough to remove all our sins, realize the only true and everlasting sacrifice, feel it and live to be under the grace of His mercies. As we receive from Him for all what we need and even more, glorify his name to be known what He has done for us.
