“And he (Jesus) said unto him, Arise, go thy way: thy faith hath made thee whole. " Luke 17:19
In this chapter, we see Jesus was approached by ten men who are lepers and Jesus, healed the ten and only one returned to Jesus and worshiped him. He is the Thankful leper. leprosy was considered as one of the most horrifying, infectious diseases at that time and people suffering from it were a literal social outcast and used to live out of the town, they even have a separate place isolated to the public in the synagogues to offer their prayers. That’s how serious they used to consider leprosy.
In this verse, there is a key phrase i.e., Made thee whole. This phrase in Greek is SOZO. The noun form of this word is SALVATION, a very special word to the entire world (John 3:16). The other 9 has received physical healing but this Samaritan received much more than healing. Jesus honored his thankful heart and gave him SALVATION. Jesus not only healed his body but he also healed his soul and made him ETERNALLY HEALED.
This morning let us all give thanks and worship God for His salvation, any one of you reading did not accept him as your personal savior. As the world is celebrating the resurrection of Christ, remember that He came to this world for you and for me ( put your name), make it personal. This is a humble request not to postpone the decision as tomorrow is not ours and His second coming is at hand.
