For the bread of God is he which cometh down from heaven, and giveth life unto the world. John 6:33
CHRIST himself, came down from heaven to show the greatness of HIM. The “bread” which gives spiritual nourishments to our soul.
GOD himself is life. The “life” from God refers to HIS words, which can bring us an eternal life.
The physical food can only satisfy the human body. No matter how much food we take, the emptiness in our spirits cannot be satisfied.
JESUS wants to lift our minds above earthly things and on to heavenly realities, to an understanding that HE is necessary for spiritual life just as bread is necessary for physical survival.
