In my early baptism days, I heard someone shared a message on Sermon on the Mount and one of the verses says, “If someone slaps you on one cheek, turn to them the other also” (Matt. 5:39). When I was a non-believer, I heard that this famous statement was from India’s father of the nation, Mahatma Gandhi, but I was enlightened that this statement was from Jesus Christ.
Our Lord Jesus Christ influenced many kings, leaders and ordinary people like us. His birth was wonderful, His teachings are wonderful, His work of salvation on the cross was wonderful, and His work in our heart is wonderful. As Jesus laid His life for us by showing wonderful love, let us always keep Jesus first in our lives and continue to praise Him as He is “Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, and Prince of Peace”.
