“…the church of God which He purchased with His own blood.” Acts 20:28
What comes to your mind when you hear the word ‘church’? The Oxford dictionary defines it as a building used for public Christian worship. If you search for a church on google maps, it will lead us to where the church building or land exists.
The original Greek word for ‘Church’ is ‘Ekklesia’, which means an assembly of saints who are called out or separated. God who created the whole universe, came down into this world and paid a heavy ransom, i.e. his own blood, for unworthy sinners like us. He called us out of darkness and separated us from this world, to be His church! The least that we can do to respond to this great love of God is to live a separated life, with the help of the Holy Spirit.
