The LORD has chosen Zion, He has desired it for His dwelling. Psalm 132:13

Everlasting love of God

I have loved you with an everlasting love – Jer 31:3

In previous chapter of Jeremiah, we read about Israel’s failure. Israel as a nation committed many sins and they drifted away from God.  They lost their nation and freedom. However, God didn’t give up with them. The prophetical word from Jeremiah reminds Gods everlasting love for Israel.

Similarly, as believer in Jesus Christ, we must never forget that Jesus loves us. Even if we fail him, His love for us never changes.  But the steadfast love of the Lord is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him, and his righteousness to children's children – Psalm 103: 17

In Jeremiah 31:3, God continue to say that “therefore with lovingkindness have I drawn thee”. It is Jesus who loved us first. We love Him because He first loved us – I John 4:19.

Prayer: Dear God, thank you for pulling us out from utter darkness to glorious light through your son.  In Jesus name I pray – Amen!!
